Flip Your Life! Vision Board Party
This is a great post on hosting a vision board party! With Covid-19, switch to a zoom party and still have fun with your friends. It’s all about changing perspective and doing what works for everyone in a safe and non-judgmental environment. For those who still want to have an in-person event, this post is mainly for you.

Vision boards have gained popularity in the past couple of years. Creating a collage of what you want to achieve in specific areas in your life helps to not only have a visual constant reminder, but the power of manifesting your destiny is real. Things do happen. Either you subconsciously work towards your goal thereby making it happen or, kind of like the Secret, it just does. Either way, it’s fun to get some of your girlfriends together (in a safe way) and create a beautiful vision. Here are some tips to help you host a stress-free and fun vision board party.
It's never too late
My goal is to have a vision board completed by the beginning of the year. Right after all those outlandish resolutions fall to the wayside and the reality of going to the gym everyday becomes glaringly unrealistic. It’s good to give some space in the beginning of the year. It’s a period of renewal and rejuvenation. However, there’s no written law that says a vision board must happen at the beginning of the year. I ended up having my party at the end of April. It’s all about whatever works with your schedule and mindset – when you’re ready to receive it.
As always keep it simple!
I tend to go slightly overboard, because I’m an event planner and a perfectionist. But you don’t have to, nor should you. Keep it simple! Decide on a few appetizers and go. You want to enjoy the party and create your vision board with your guests. Don’t do anything that puts you out even before the party starts. Use your theme to guide your party.
Don’t overload with appetizers.
Cheese, crackers and salami will make a beautiful appetizer plate that pairs well with wine and makes it easy to snack while working on your vision board.
Little bowls of candied nuts, chips or popcorn on the table makes for great noshing
Your theme is your guide.
Mine was “Vision and Vino”. I had three different wine options, a little variety because everyone’s taste is different. I chose people pleasers (cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc). I happened to have more whites only because, well, I had more whites on hand. Go with what you have.
Vision Board Kit
Save yourself the hustling around and order your vision board kit (Link at the bottom of post)! It has everything you need to create your own vision board and you can ask everyone within your party to order theres as well. It includes: magazines, canvas, glue/scissors, drink mix and vision board guide. You can always supplement with additional magazines and embellishments. Again, no need to go over board. You don’t want to be overwhelmed and you don’t want to overwhelm your guests with a variety of options.
I’m a magazine hoarder. If you’re not, someone near you probably has dozens lying around. You can also find free magazines at your local library. Also, ask your guests to bring magazines. They’re more likely to find inspiration from what they currently read.
Provide Guidance
I know I said that vision boards are gaining popularity, but many people still haven’t done a vision board before. Don’t assume that your guests are going to know what to do right off the bat. Provide some guidance and a starting point for them to begin.
Offer category suggestions (health, travel, career, home, garden, etc.)
It’s always easy to focus on just the current year and not life in general. What do you hope to accomplish this year? Narrow down the focus.
I created this helpful guide as a starting point to think about the areas that you would like to focus on this year.
Finally, hang your vision board in a place where it will be seen often. It’s always fun to see how many things you accomplish at the end of the year.
Even after the party, mine is still a work in progress. Enjoy!
